Phonics and Reading
Phonics is one of our main prioirites in Year 1. This is the basis for learning to read. High quality phonics lessons paired with Guided Reading in school and regualr Home Reading will ensure that children are confident, fluent readers.
We teach Phonics twice a day alongside daily Guided Reading sessions. Please ensure you are reading with your child a minimum of 4 days a week.
