Mrs Diane Clark
I have spent my entire career working with children of all ages in a wide variety of roles. Having completed my degree in psychology I spent ten years working as a Senior Play and Community Worker in Halton running playcentres and setting up a town wide ‘Latchkey Scheme’ many years before after-school clubs had even been thought of!
Having had my own three children, I went back to complete my PGCE in Early Years before teaching in primary school for two years. I then went on to lecture in Further Education as the course leader for Health and Social Care at foundation and advanced level.
I was asked to manage a children’s home in Tottenham for a year to prepare them for inspection and establish a new and efficient management to ensure a stable environment for the girls that lived there. The project gave me 12 months invaluable experience working with young people with multiple challenges.
On return from London I became a Police Authority member for ten years with specific responsibility for performance, domestic abuse and youth offending. The role gave me a unique insight into the challenges that so many families and young people face and enabled me to influence policy and approach to many issues in consultation with local communities.
Ten years ago, I founded my own charity to support and enhance the educational experiences of children who don’t always have the opportunities that should be available to everyone. I currently support over 50 schools across the County. I have been working with Lache Primary School for over a decade and have always enjoyed having a part to play in the Lache Community. I am passionate about helping to ensure that our children have the best possible chance to succeed and grateful for the opportunity to be Chair of Governors.
DECLARATION OF INTERESTS: Diane is the Director of Passion for learning - an organisation that sends trained volunteers into schools to work with those children who need some extra pastoral support through reading books together. She is also the Chair of Governors for another CWAC primary school.
